2021 AOC Alsace - Pinot Noir
2021 AOC Alsace - Pinot Noir
US$0.00
In a brutal year for Pinot Noir (bad mildew) Max has changed up his vinification process for his Pinot, and is pleased with the results. Crunchy, bright and very drinkable.
Cuvée: Pinot Noir
Style: Still
Colour: Red
Grapes/Blend: Pinot Noir
ABV: 13%
Vintage: 2021
Winemaking: Hand harvested from 60 year old vines on a steep southern-facing slope on granite. Half of the blend is a 7 day maceration of de-stemmed fruit, the other half a direct-pressed blanc de noir. A little (about 15%) of the 2020 held in reserve was blended in also, before ageing in large traditional Alsace barrels for 8 months, and bottled with no additions in May.
Sulphur: None added
Soil: Granite and sandy granite.
