After the great success of her debut vintage we’ve been eagerly awaiting the new editions from Oriane Rosner at Ori Vin!
Available now, we have the 2022 iterations of her three cuvees: MAMBO MAI MAI - an amphora macerated and aged Muscadelle; GAMAY A GO GO - a short maceration of Gamay; and QUE SHIRA SHIRA - a pet-nat of young vine Syrah.
2022 was a very dry one in Gaillac, and the wines bear the deeper fruit and nice bit of structure from a warm, dry year, Oriane has responded to the challenge incredibly well!
As with last year, fruit comes from the biodynamic Domaine Gayrard, who Oriane moved to France to help in mid-2020. In 2021 she jumped at the chance to make some wine of her own, taking custody of a few rows of their vines. Planted over clay-limestone, and farmed to according biodynamic principles. Oriane is technically negocé but she knows these vineyards deeply, and farms them as if they were her own.
Work in the cellar is slow and manual, with Oriane undertaking most tasks on her own, working with no additions, raising the wines in barrel and amphora, producing dynamic, characterful expressions of Gaillac, a true labour of love.
